Links to Other Adventurers

Our adventure was inspired by folks we met while backpacking Guatemala in 2007.  Since then we have learned there is an amazing amount of people young, old, families, with pets (bunnies and dogs) following their dreams and driving around the world or even just a few weeks… we have decided to post a few of them here on our site.  There is an insane amount of people out there traveling and in fact we have no less then 50 blogs in my browser bookmarks… we will not post them all, but if you like one send it to us and we shall included it here.

First the king and queen of Overland Travel : Emil and Liliana Schmid the world record holders… they have been on the road for more than 25 years (as of 2009) on a truck very similar to ours. Their site is a little hard to navigate but well worth it.

Pebble Pedalers:  These two guys make us feel like the worst slackers ever (which we may be… at least Luis).  The Pedalers are brothers Seth and Parker Berling and they are pedaling from Alaska to Argentina in order to raise awareness of and garner support for protecting the Bristol Bay Watershed from the construction of the Pebble Mine which would be the largest proposed open pit mine in North America.  Please read their purposee and consider it…

This is Dan’s website, we like the name “The Road Chose Me, 50,000kms of Ebb and Flow“.   Dan is driving from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego in a bone stock Jeep with minimal equipment.  It makes us feel like we way overprepared for our little adventure and it proves that all you need to do is get up and go!

The Ramblewriters: Rochelle, Nick and their dog Domino are driving a first generation 4Runner from Durham, NC to Buenos Aires, Argentina and they keep a very well designed website with incredibly useful and entertaining content, one of them must be a graphic designer (a good one)
